Wow! Working for five days in a row is hard work!!!! I know many of you had snow/cold days this week, but none here! We had some cold days but no snow! I am so glad that it is Friday! I'm linking up today with Doodle Bugs Teaching for her weekly link up Five for Friday!
I am so excited to be hosting a Jamberry Party! Christi Fultz is my consultant and a wonderful one at that! The party is entirely online and I love if you ordered some nail wraps and listed me, Rissa Webber as your host! If you don't know what these little things are, then you need to go check out the Jamberry website!
Here is a sample on my ring finger.
After 5 days, here's the difference between the polished nails and my Jam nail. No contest!
These are the Jams that I ordered and will using this weekend! |
One of the standards we've been tackling this week is Elapsed Time. I taught elapsed time through a Problem of the Day. I did a mini lesson with my students on Monday about the different types of elapsed time problems. We did an example problem each day. Some kids had a hard time not using "regular" subtraction and addition with time. Here is the anchor chart we used for the week courtesy of Teaching with a Mountain View!
This week, we spent the bulk of our time on geometry concepts using Learn Zillion and Jennifer Findley's foldables in our interactive notebooks.
It's been interesting to say the least. Everyone has been working at their own pace and for the most part, they have been doing a great job! I have had some issues with filling out the foldables completely, but they are making a lot of progress.
This is my example for the kids to reference. |
I met with my principal to complete my Post-Observation from my formal last week. The lesson didn't go quite as I had planned, but I did get some good feedback from my principal! I love to hear the positive feedback about what's happening in my classroom.
We got a Chuy's here in Arkansas! My hubby is from TX and we love Chuy's!
Our Friday night will be spent here!
What happened in your week?
I have never seen or eaten at a Chuy's. I will ask Autumn if she has. Do all of your students have computer's or were they ones school has on a cart and it was your turn to use them?
ReplyDeleteI actually received a grant last year from my school district so I have a class set of laptops in my room at my disposal at all times. It's been totally awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love the anchor chart that you used for elapsed time. So cute! I've never even heard of Chuy's. I wish we would at least get a Chick-fil-A in Michigan. There are none! I know what you mean about the 5 day week! There was a ton of hype yesterday that it would be so cold we would have a day off today. Principals sent out emails, told kids at the high school what the alternate plans would be for exams and...nothing. It jinxed it! It's such a bummer to go to school when you thought you had a sure thing!

As an art teacher painting my nails is a complete waste as they are ruined in less than 24 hours :( Wonder if Jamberry would last! I LOVE painted nails, and always have to settle on my toes which isn't fun in winter!
